Family Time

Being snowed-in has given us all a chance to relax and enjoy some family time together. Matthew's work has a mandatory shut-down for the week after Christmas, so we were so fortunate to all be together. Next year there will be 5 of us enjoying our family time!

White Christmas

We had quite the snowstorm on Christmas day. It was nice because we had nowhere to go and nothing to do, except play with Aiden's new toys...unfortunately nobody was able to make it over for the prime rib dinner because we all ended up being snowed in! We didn't leave the house for 5 days and loved every minute of being stuck.

Rather Under-Impressed

Apparently Santa needs to step up his game, because all Aiden cared about first thing Christmas morning was all of the presents Izzy and Papaw gave him the night before. We had to force him to open his presents from Santa! He finally opened them, but then went right back to playing with his train set and coloring book. He was happy that Santa remembered his "yellow choo-choo train" as it went so well with his gift from Izzy and Papaw!

Christmas Morning

Once Aiden got into the swing of things, he really enjoyed opening his presents!

Christmas Eve with Izzy and Papaw

We all headed up the mountain to celebrate Christmas Eve with Izzy, Papaw, and Aunt Jenny. After a delicious dinner of pork roast and dumplings (and lots of chocolate almond milk for Aiden), he was ready to rip into his presents. He waited very patiently for the fun moment! He was very excited about getting a train set and a "Woody and Buzz" coloring book.

Ornament Painting

We were looking for a fun project to personalize Christmas presents for the grandparents, so painting ornaments seemed like a good idea. Aunt Jenny came along to help keep Aiden "on track" during the painting process...the brushes are just too much fun!

Surprise, surprise!

We went for our first ultrasound tonight...and were extremely surprised to find out that we are having twins! I was having all sorts of twins dreams when we first found out we were expecting, but the midwives assured me that I wasn't measuring big enough for twins. Turns out mother's intuition was right on! The babies look great and are both on target for size. Now WE just have to get on target. Turns out we're going to need one more of everything =)
We couldn't be more excited, this is going to be an awesome ride!

A Little Holiday Baking

Aiden loves to help bake in the kitchen...but his favorite part is licking the beater!

Trimming the Tree

Aiden was such a helper with the tree this year. The only concept he didn't quite grasp was spreading the ornaments out when hanging them. We ended up with about 20 ornaments in a one foot square space! He was so proud of hanging them, though!

Visiting Santa

Well, we weren't sure how visiting Santa was going to go this year...last year there was LOTS of crying and running away! This year we were all surprised that Aiden voluntarily sat on Santa's lap (with Daddy, of course) and even whispered to him he wanted a "yellow choo-choo train". We were so proud of him, especially because he came up with this yellow train idea all by himself! Hopefully Santa will bring him what he wants!

Thanksgiving in Florida

We had a great visit down in Florida for Thanksgiving! It was great to have Aiden there to see everyone and get to play with his Gramma, Papa, and Great Grandpap-pap. Aiden loved playing at the pool and playing with his new toys from his early Christmas. His lawnmower is really going to help daddy out in that steep front yard of ours!

Siddall, Party of 4!

We are expecting our second little one May 4, 2011! I am 15 weeks along now and officially out of my first trimester, which is great because I don't remember being this sick with Aiden! Boy, there were some rough days this go-round...and chasing a 2-year old doesn't make it any easier. Aiden has been accompanying me to midwife visits, but I'm not sure he really has a clue what is going on. The baby has a nice strong heartbeat, about 150 bpm. Yay!

Southern Boy

This Southern boy is ready for the Winter weather; he has his hat and his Carhartt overalls. It's a good thing too, because we actually had snow flurries today! He looks like he is ready to work on the farm!

On Top of Pa-Scetty

A little Aiden and Mommy duet. Ignore Mommy losing the tune somewhere in the middle...it was early!

Google Eyes

I was absolutely in love with these goofy glasses that Aiden received from a neighbor, but he is all boy and it only took him about 10 minutes to break the arms off. Oh well, at least I got a photo of how hysterical he looked!

Halloween Night

On Halloween night we just took Aiden around our little subdivision. We don't get a lot of trick-or-treaters out here in the country, so the few houses he did hit filled up his entire candy bag! Lucky guy (and lucky Mommy and Daddy who will be helping him it it all!) This year he was Max from Where the Wild Things Are, but he was pretty tame Wild Thing when making the rounds. Although he had been practicing his "trick-or-treat" all day, he refused to speak to any of our neighbors. Shy guy!

Punkin Carving

Time to carve the pumpkins! Aiden wasn't as into it as we thought he would be. He was pretty opposed to putting his hands inside the "gwop". Maybe next year he will actually be able to help with his own pumpkin!

Halloween Party

One of the mom's groups I belong to had a great Halloween potluck at our local park. It was great to get all of the kids together and see everyone's cute costumes. It was also great to enjoy the weather as it warmed up...it was only 28 degrees when we got out of bed! By noon, it was up to almost 60.

Fall Colors

There is a good reason that Western North Carolina is known for it's fall foliage...and why the "leaf peepers" come from hundreds of miles away to take in the scenery. It has been so beautiful that it almost hurts your eyes, and photos never do it justice. Here are a few shots from my parents deck.

Pumpkin Time!

Can't believe that it is pumpkin time already! It seems like we just moved here, but we have officially made it into all four seasons now. We all headed down to an apple and pumpkin farm to pick out some Fall treats.

Aiden cared more about the corn than the photo op.
